Messages from the portal

The customer writes, with an urgency — and it lands in one inbox with the report replies.

Before you start

From the portal a customer can write to you directly — a question, a request, a problem.

Step by step

  1. The customer opens the portal and writes a message.
  2. They mark how urgent it is.
  3. It appears under Messages in your app, with an unread count in the sidebar.

Good to know

Urgency is the customer's word, not a promise. It sorts your inbox; it does not commit you to a response time.

Report replies and portal messages share one inbox. Two inboxes would mean one of them goes unread, and it would be whichever one you did not think of.

The unread count is in the sidebar, so a message does not need you to remember to look.

What it does not do

There is no automatic acknowledgement. If you want the customer to know their message arrived, answer it.

A message does not create a work order. If it turns out to be a job, create one — see work orders.
