Work orders

The one-off job that is not part of a round — a repair, a call-out, a green pool.

Before you start

Not everything is a weekly round. A pump that failed, a filter change, a green pool after a storm — those are work orders.

Step by step

  1. Open Work orders and press New.
  2. Pick the customer and the pool.
  3. Describe what needs doing.
  4. Optionally set a date and assign a technician or team.
  5. Save.

A row opens in place to be edited. There is no second screen.

Good to know

The list is sorted by urgency, not by date. Overdue at the top, then everything with no date at all. That is the actual question this page answers: a work order without a date is waiting for a decision, and nobody gets reminded of it by itself.

Completed work orders sit at the bottom, collapsed. They should be findable without covering the work.

A work order can also come out of an accepted quote. If the customer said yes to a filter change, it does not need typing twice.

What it does not do

A work order does not schedule itself, and giving it a date does not put it on anyone's route — see pulling it into a route.

There is no priority field beyond the date. Urgency is expressed by when it is due.
