Reporting damage

A photo, a description and how urgent it is — from the poolside, while you are looking at it.

Before you start

A cracked skimmer lid noticed on Tuesday and mentioned on Friday is a cracked skimmer lid nobody did anything about.

Step by step

  1. During a visit, add a photo with the category damage.
  2. Describe what is wrong.
  3. Set how urgent it is — the same three levels the office uses.
  4. Finish the visit as normal.

Good to know

Urgency is set by the person who saw it. Somebody standing in front of the pump knows whether it can wait a fortnight. The office reading a description three days later does not.

A damage report is not a work order yet. It is a finding. Turning it into a job — with a date and a technician — is the office's decision, see work orders.

Photograph it even when it looks obvious. The description pump noisy means nothing in six weeks; a photo of the label with the model number means everything.

What it does not do

Reporting damage does not notify anybody immediately. It appears with the visit.

It does not create a quote. What the repair costs is a separate conversation.
