Repeating routes

Most pool work is the same round every week. Rather than creating fifty-two Mondays, a route can hold weekdays and apply to every matching day.

Step by step

1. Create or open a route.
2. Instead of a date, tick the weekdays it runs on — Monday, Wednesday.
3. Optionally give it a valid from and valid until date.
4. To change one single day, open that day and edit it there. GardyProp pulls that day out of the series and gives it its own entry; from then on that day follows the entry, and every other day still follows the series.

Good to know

A period beats an endless series. A round that ran all summer and stopped in October should say so. Without an end date it either runs forever — which is wrong — or somebody deletes it, and then it never happened at all.

Splitting rescues the past. When a round changes permanently, do not edit the series: end it and start a new one. Editing rewrites what already happened, so last month's route would be shown with this month's stops, and any margin you calculated from it changes underneath you.

The state of a stop belongs to its day. A stop marked done is done on that Tuesday. The same series next Tuesday starts open again.

What it does not do

There are no monthly or "every second week" patterns. A series is weekdays, nothing else.

Individual days pulled out of a series stay pulled out. If you later change the series, that day keeps what you gave it.
