Planning a route

Pick a day, drag the pools in, assign a van and a technician.

Before you start

A route is a named list of stops on a day, driven by one person or one team in one vehicle.

Step by step

  1. Open Routes and press New route.
  2. Give it a nameMonday Paphos, West coast.
  3. Pick a date, or pick weekdays to make it repeat — see repeating routes.
  4. Assign a technician or team, and a vehicle.
  5. Open the route and press the pool list. Drag pools in, or press the button on each row — on a tablet there is no dragging, and planning often happens on one.
  6. Reorder the stops by hand, or let GardyProp do it — optimising the order.

Good to know

The pool list is flat, not two-level. You do not pick the site first and the pool second. Whoever is looking for a pool knows its name or the customer's name, and searching one flat list is one step instead of three.

Pools that are already in a route are shown, not hidden. Searching for Villa Eleni and finding nothing just makes you search harder. The row tells you which route it is already in instead.

The vehicle matters for more than looks. It is the stock location the technician books material off, and it is what fuel and running costs are recorded against. A route with no vehicle still works; the material just is not booked off anything.

What it does not do

A route does not check whether the day is realistic. It does not refuse a sixteen-hour list, and it will not tell you a stop is an hour's drive from the others unless you optimise.

Assigning a technician does not notify them. They see the route when they open their day.
