Optimising the order of stops

One press reorders the day to the shortest round trip from your yard and back.

Before you start

Once a route has more than four or five stops, the best order is no longer obvious. GardyProp can work it out.

Step by step

  1. Open a route with its stops in it.
  2. Press Optimise.
  3. The stops are reordered. Check it, and drag anything you want moved back.

Good to know

It is a round trip. The calculation starts at your yard — the map pin from your company details — visits every stop and returns. That is what a service day actually is.

Optimising is a suggestion, not a rule. You can always drag afterwards. There are good reasons to override it: a customer who is only home in the afternoon, a hotel that wants the pool done before breakfast, a gate that opens at nine.

Without a yard pin it still works, but it optimises the path between the stops without a start and end point — a worse answer to a different question.

What it does not do

It does not know about time windows, opening hours or appointments. Every stop is treated as equally reachable at any time of day.

It does not consider how long each pool takes. A route optimised to the shortest drive can still be a twelve-hour day.
