Your company details

The first time you sign in, a window covers the dashboard and asks for your company details. It cannot be closed. That looks strict, so here is what each field is actually used for.

Step by step

Sign in. The window opens by itself over your dashboard.
Fill in street and number, postcode, town and country.
Enter your phone number.
Confirm the VAT rate. It is pre-filled from your country, but it has to be confirmed — a suggested number that nobody looked at is a guess.
Check the map pin. It is the point your routes are measured from.
Press Save. The window closes and does not come back.

VAT number is not required. Businesses below the registration threshold do not have one, and a mandatory field that part of your trade cannot fill in is a barrier, not a check. Inside the EU it is offered; outside it is not shown.

Good to know

Why each field is mandatory: every one of them makes a document or a route wrong if it is missing, not just incomplete.

Address — it goes on every quote and every report. A quote without a sender address is not a quote.
Phone — the customer sees it on the report and uses it to reply.
VAT rate — a quote freezes the rate at the moment it is created. Fixing it afterwards does not change quotes that already went out. Zero is a valid answer; an empty field is not, because it silently counts as zero.
Map pin — routes start and end at your yard. Without it every distance is measured from nowhere.

The lock hangs on a stamp, not on the fields. A business with no VAT enters 0 %, and 0 cannot be told apart from "never touched". The stamp records that a person looked.

Logo and colour are not asked. They are cosmetics. A quote without a logo is still a quote.

What it does not do

It does not verify anything. The address is not checked against a register, and the VAT number is not validated. What you type is what appears on your documents.

If you do not have the details to hand, Log out works. The window is a request, not a trap — but it will be there again next time.
