Booking goods you have received

When a delivery arrives, book it. Otherwise your stock says you have three canisters when six are standing in the yard — and every consumption booked against it is wrong from that moment on.

How to do it

1. Open Stock and press Goods received.
2. Pick the place the delivery went to — a warehouse or a vehicle.
3. Enter how many packages arrived, not how many grams.
4. Press Book goods received.

Supplier and delivery note number are optional, but they are what lets you find the entry again three months later.

Packages, not grams

Nobody buys 75,000 g of chlorine — they buy three canisters. GardyProp knows how much is in one package because it is stored on the item, so you type 3 and the amount appears next to it. If an item has no package size, the number is taken as the amount itself.

The price is optional, and that is deliberate

A package price changes when you buy, and almost never otherwise. That is why the field sits here. Leave it empty and the old price stays.

Only type a price when it actually changed. If we made it mandatory, people would retype the old price — and sooner or later mistype it.

Changing the price does not rewrite the past. Every visit keeps the

material cost that applied on the day it happened. The new price counts from

now on.

Why not just correct the stock

You can, but you should not. A correction says someone mistyped. A goods receipt says we bought something. Only the second one lets you answer what material cost you this month — and that is what the stock book is for.
