Quotes

Line items, one-off and monthly totals, and a link the customer can open.

Before you start

A quote is built from line items and sent as a link. The customer opens it in a browser and reads it as a document.

Step by step

  1. Open the prospect and press New quote.
  2. Add line items — description, quantity, unit price.
  3. GardyProp totals them, separating the one-off part from the monthly part.
  4. Send. The customer gets a link.

Good to know

One-off and recurring are totalled separately, because they are different promises. A filter change and a monthly service price do not belong in one sum.

The VAT rate is frozen when the quote is created. Changing your rate afterwards does not alter quotes already sent — see your company details.

There is no PDF attachment. The customer prints it themselves if they need to. An attachment would be a second route to the same document, and it never shows whether it was read — which is the number that matters in a sale.

The document is rendered fresh each time from the stored lines. Correct a price and the customer sees the right figure next time they open it, not an old copy.

The link is never indexed by search engines — same reasoning as the customer's report link.

What it does not do

There is no quote template library and no standard text blocks.

A quote does not expire by itself. If it should only stand until the end of the month, say so in a line item.
