Kilometres that belong to no route
The gap between what the odometer says and what the routes account for.
Before you start
The odometer says how far the van went. The routes say how far it was supposed to go. The difference is shown rather than hidden.
Good to know
What the difference can mean: a trip to the supplier, a private journey, a detour — or simply routes whose distance was never estimated.
The second case is the common one, and GardyProp says so. If routes have no estimated distance, kilometres without a route is too high, and a note appears alongside. Without it the figure would look like private mileage and start an argument that the data cannot support.
If no route was found at all, every kilometre is unassigned — which is correct and useless. The number only becomes meaningful once routes carry distances.
What it does not do
It does not accuse anyone. It is a difference between two counts, and it names the most likely harmless explanation first.
It is not a logbook for tax purposes. It does not record who drove or why.
