The fuel log

Every fill-up is one line. It is the only place GardyProp learns what a vehicle actually drove.

Step by step

1. Open the vehicle and press Add fill-up.
2. Enter date, litres, price per litre and the odometer reading.
3. Say whether you filled it up completely.
4. Save.

Good to know

The odometer is the vehicle's count. Checked in the database on 18 August 2026: the working-time table was empty, and two of eleven routes carried an estimated distance. What a van really drove is known only from the odometer — exactly as only a count knows what is really on the shelf. Both are independent observations, and only an independent observation can contradict the book.

So enter the odometer even when you are in a hurry. Without it there is no distance, and without a distance there is no cost per kilometre. GardyProp then returns not calculable and says so, rather than producing a figure that looks right and walks into every calculation.

"Filled up completely" is not a detail. Consumption between two fill-ups is only valid if both were full. Otherwise the second amount is not consumption, it is what was left in the tank.

What it does not do

It does not import from a fuel card. Every line is entered.

It does not check the odometer runs forwards. A transposed digit is recorded as typed and will distort that period.
